DYNAMIC CRACK GAUGES

Dynamic crack meters are employed in many different geotechnical construction applications to monitor movement in structures along surface cracks. They record and monitor any structural changes caused by the construction activity, allowing for continuous oversight of the structural integrity. Crack meters are anchored to either side of a crack or join to measure displacement. The anchors are connected with a vibrating wire displacement transducer. If movement occurs, causing the distance between the anchor points to change, this change in distance will be recorded. They can also be used to trigger an alarm if structural movement exceeds a pre-set maximum displacement.
